Ernest Williamson III

Man,Boy,& The Engagement of Environment
                         --Ernest Williamson III

pride is intrinsic
even the roses throw their scents
to the world
they recoil and fill their spaces with allure
likened to no ignorant babe
and the cusp of mastering death
is a beyond semblance
not because it is glaring with flame
for transcending prose
but because it rose from the roots
of the Belmont Tree
beneath the shackles and snares
colluding dark skin
as the poets and their dearth of balance
careens
the sea of readers
who nervously chop down
trees
with
no limbs
or stoma
to intercede
with
or
without
the logic
betwixt
sense
and
scent

A Pain of Maturation
      --Ernest Williamson III

don't mentally challenge me
let me be
grasp the musk of romance
the bumptious callow whaling of my want
do this in remembrance of me
a causal decry is of me
for you
this is the jovial moment to say
something grand fancy and hallow
to the ears of a backbraker
a stuttering rib
morphed and alive for me
so I thought
and I still think
at times
alone
why I fell
for you
on my sore knees
swollen
stabbing bits of concrete
for reasons of no other rationale
than a drifting
fix
dousing
a brittle
bubble
of
heavy
water

The Garden of Eden of Modern Bureaucracy
               --Ernest Williamson III

when the soluble fiber dies
and the reigning saints of old
fall from their wings
with the brunt
of corrosive straight line winds
mediating with crumpled sheet metal
the babbling of Babylon
will erect a stint
in the hallway
of my
minutia
with crossbow gripped
by a confident hand
squeezed with stealth and winsome parade
I have regained the movement of my legs
though unseen to expectancy
I walk in lateral leaps
over blue waters
and red sands
only to find my wings
frozen in molded spores
stained with flights of lies
as I fall from my legs
into the monotony of wobbling alone
on my belly
